About Ippocampo
Ippocampo S.r.l. is the island's own ferry company, based at Via Marina Chiaiolella on Procida. It runs foot-passenger boats between Procida's Marina Grande, the small port of Monte di Procida on the Flegrean coast, Pozzuoli and Ischia Porto, and since 2022 it also carries the island's students and commuters between Monte di Procida and Procida under a regional contract. Group transfers and private charters round off the business. The boats take about 300 passengers; the vessel on the Pozzuoli run appears in the booking as Ippocampo Euro 6.
Routes to Procida
On this site Ippocampo appears on Pozzuoli - Procida, a crossing of about 30 minutes from Pozzuoli's harbour at Via dell'Emporio, with several sailings a day on its operating dates in the summer season; Caremar carries the corridor year round. Ippocampo's shortest link is Monte di Procida - Procida, a ten-minute hop from the Acquamorta harbour that suits anyone staying on the Flegrean coast, and the company also sails Procida - Ischia. Dates and departures are in the timetable and in the operator's own booking.
Check-in, luggage, bicycle and pet
With a ticket bought in advance, be at the boarding point 15 minutes before departure; return tickets need a reservation at least two hours before the chosen sailing. Hand luggage is one piece of 50 x 30 x 15 cm, up to 10 kg on the ferries and 5 kg on the fast boats. Bicycles are carried for a small fee per leg, standard or folding, and pets travel against the applicable fare: dogs muzzled and on a lead, cats and small animals in a carrier, all outside the passenger areas. No vehicles are carried.
Tickets
Tickets come from the Ippocampo online shop, the maritime station at Marina Grande on Procida, the Ippocampo office in the port of Pozzuoli and the food truck at Acquamorta in Monte di Procida; on the Ischia leg they are sold on board or online. Children under three travel free, three- to six-year-olds at half fare. Refunds apply when a sailing is cancelled or force majeure intervenes; a change of plan within the last two weeks returns at most half the fare, and later nothing. Current amounts are on the prices page.
